I am sooo full, I regret eating. So, let me see if I can ease my indigestion by blogging about the dinner I just had about three hours ago. It is already three hours and I am still choking with badam milk and mutton briyani. Regret, regret, regret.
Initially, we went to Chulia Street (I think) because we wanted to try the kari itik nila from Kassim Mustafa. However, I found that they only sell on Saturday and Sunday. Lawrence told me the duck curry is good but I must go around 8 pm or they will be sold out the moment they take out the dish.

Since there is no duck curry, hubby suggested Kapitan because he said the Kapitan in Bandar Perda, Butterworth has mixed grill with its naan. However, the Kapitan here only have tandoori chicken. So, I ordered the item most advertised, i.e. claypot briyani. I am never a fan of flavoured rice like nasi minyak, nasi lemak, nasi briyani or anything kind which has its own taste because I find that too filling. The rice is not even served in any claypot but a metal container like a cake tin.

Meanwhile, my son ordered the tandoori chicken set with butter naan. I prefer the tandoori at Kassim Mustafa in Jalan Burmah.

They have a pullcart selling badam milk. I like badam milk or almond milk. However, the one at Kapitan is soo thick, so rich and full of cashew nuts, raisins and don’t know what skin, like foo chook (soyabean skin) it made me sooo full. Adoi lah…I hope I don’t develop lactose intolerance and squirm on the floor tonight. Sometimes, if I eat some wrong kind of foods, I can get tummy ache so severe, I can faint. The badam milk is rather nice. But not to be drank with a rich meal like briyani mutton or else you will suffer like a python which had swallowed an animal ten times its’ size.

The pushcart which prepares all kind of healthy drinks like Milo with raw egg, tongkat ali tea and don’t know what kind of ’strengthening coffee’.

Kapitan does not serve the tastiest foods but they have a wide range of things not found at other mamak stalls. They have a few outlets in Penang and one of them is at Gurney Hotel at Gurney Tower, next to Starbucks. The one I ate is at Chulia Street, Penang.
Now, I have to find a way to get my food digested or else I can’t sleep. How?

If you recognise where this screenshot is taken from, good.
If you don’t, you probably missed one of the best place to make money online in Malaysia.
A cool RM3K is coming this month and also the next. I have made it a point to spend one third of my local income on me, myself, I every month. And I notice I have under-pampered myself because the credit card bill just arrived and I only spent RM1.3K on my credit card bills and most of them are purchases I made for groceries, books and stuffs for my sons.
So, must make it a point to spend more on myself so that I have more motivation to make more money.
I think I could make twice the amount if I have lived in KL because all the goodies go to KL bloggers. Penang bloggers are often passed over because we are not the cool and happening crowd. Another thing is some local advertisers hate me for my political stand. Not that I care, doh…..I won’t change the tune of my blog, everrrr to suit advertisers. Take it or leave it, I don’t really care.
So how much have you made from this company?

I roasted a chicken earlier today. However, the chicken was so delicious, my four sons whacked the whole thing clean and I didn’t get to eat much. The whole chicken which was seasoned with herbs, honey, cajun pepper, wine and salt was soooo goood….
I only get to eat bits and pieces of them and whatever is left is just bones! So, now at 11 pm, I am feeling pretty hungry. It is too late for any heavy eating and yet, snacks cannot quell the hunger. I think I may as well eat a proper dinner and go find some best diet pills to solve the extra flabs.
Of course, I am joking about pigging out on heavy meals at 11 pm and then, find easy solution. Yet…the thought of a hot steaming bowl of noodle is just soooo tempting.

I am so happy to see some new broaband company coming to my area today. I was driving and saw this young boy setting up a booth. So, I stopped my car, wound down the window and asked him if we have coverage.
He must be so pleased to get a potential customer even before they open shop. I made all the enquiries and got the brochure from him. Tomorrow I am going to get him to come and give us a live demo and after that I can ditch my current broadband company. It has been such a pain these few days and I had not been able to do much work because the line keeps getting cut off or is snail speed.
I do not mind paying close to RM2K just to get the thrill of ditching this company that monopolise the broadband.

Teens hate greens. Most of them do. So, I decided to make a salad out of apples and potatoes. When I dished them out, some were rather cautious about taking salads. But when I told them these are potatoes and apples, they immediately grab their share.

The tricky part about making salad is to make sure the things are really cold and remains cold until serving time because mayonnaise turns bad easily.
I used the recipe given by one of my readers and it was rather easy to manage except that I forget that it is a chore to peel 20 apples and making sure they remain fresh and not turn an ugly brown mess. I also did not anticipate how long 3 kilograms of potatoes take to cook. After that, I was in a dilemma on how to mix my salad because the portions were huge. Really, really huge.
Lucky I have two baking trays that fit into my oven. I had to get down to mix them with my palms, after washing umpteen times to make sure they are bacterias free.
So, here are what I used for a huge portion of salads :
10 green granny smith apples – peel, cubed and bathed in salt water, then store in fridge
10 red fuji apples – method same as above
3 kilograms of USA potatoes (because they are floury) – washed clean, boiled and then, peeled and cubes – store in fridge too
1 large tub of raisins
3 cans of Green giant sweet corn – drained

I used an industrial size Heinz mayonnaise. This is the type supplied to hotels and restaurants and I think it is about 1 kilogram or even more.
I flavoured the mayo with some salt, sugar, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, red wine vinegar and fresh dill.
After mixing all of the above together, I stored the salad in thick, stainless pot in the freezer for about 20 minutes. I brought the pots and casseroles of salad to church and they remain cold even after an hour wait (due to our mass).
For colours, I added the dill and some green and red peppers. Only add these at serving time because peppers tend to spoil fast.

Pasta and salad are good combinations. If you like you can add boiled pastas to the salad as well.
Someone asked me about the brand of pasta sauce I bought. The can is in the second picture. It is another ‘industrial size’ can. They have sauces for pizza, pasta and other dishes, all in different flavours.
To get to Lucky Frozen Foods, you can access it through the road just before PSDC in Bayan Baru, go straight and I think the road is the third on your right. It is a godown, very much like a factory. But they do cater to walk in clients. However, their foods are sold in bulk in kilograms and huge quantities. I am giving them free publicity but I do recommend them if you are cooking in bulk because the food qualities/brands are hotel standard but still very cheap compared to hypermarkets.

I am helping my son’s coursemates to promote a bit.
This coming Friday and Saturday, we will be having back-to-back 2 Set Lunch to cook and serve..
The problem is, how are we going to find 60 people for the both days?
So, if you are kind enough.. We really need a hand here..
Come and Dine in @ KDU Bon Appetit on 19/06/2009 & 20/06/09! (Penang)
The time is from 12pm to 2.00pm..
For the foods we are going to serve and their prices, I will update on this coming Monday when I got the recipe sheets from my chef..
If you want to go for the lunch, do check Suithong’s blog and mail/drop comment for him to contact you.
Usually, for the price you pay, it is very worth eating. But sometimes, there are clinches here and there, so I cannot guarantee a totally perfect meal. Hey, it is usually RM13-RM14 for free flow of orange squash, appetitizer or soup, main dish and dessert. So, cannot complain lah.

I had lunch there today. Above is my son and I. He is in his second year in Professional Chef. Diploma only, must go to Switzerland or other countries for the degree.

All the kids there.

The fish and pilaf.

The smoked salmon appetizer.

The dessert.
Go, go, go….support these students. They need to sell all the coupons. Check out suithong’s blog for details.

I had a fantastic nap this afternoon. I slept from 4 pm to 6 pm. It was so hot outside so I keep the aircond at 22 deg celcius and curled up under my blanket to have a really refreshing good snooze. There is nothing like a nap well napped. No disturbances, no interupptions and just pure bliss of sleeping.
However, long time ago, my mother-in-law had this annoying thing of nagging me that napping will make a person fat. She obviously had no mercy for me, a mom with very young babies. I used to sleep when she visited. Sometimes, fake napping to avoid her, sometimes really out of exhaustion. Whatever, I hate her reminders and I told her fat also fat…what to do..at most take diet pills. Then, she would launched into another nagging…Sheesh…May she RIP now because she no longer needs to watch me nap.

I have this bad habit of washing only part of the dishes because I tend to get itchy palms when they are exposed to washing detergent and water. I tried using gloves but they are awfully hot and I can’t feel if the dishes are clean.
Maybe I should try getting some disposable gloves of medical quality so that I don’t feel so clumsy in them. The kind which surgeons use when they are doing some operations. I cannot stand kitchen gloves because of the rubber smell and also the thickness, making me unable to feel my fingers.

We went for set lunch today. There are four of us but my little boy doesn’t eat much. So, I only order three set lunches.
He loves the chicken and had all of them. Meanwhile, my two other sons gave me their portion of vegetables, salads and pilaf and cous cous.
So, I am like a grazing cow, gobbling up all the greens and rice. The poor cow who looks forlonly at this creme brulee which my kid walloped.

I have many things that are passed their deadlines. I keep procrastinating and keep pushing it off to another day and another day. It is a bad sign that I am getting lazy and disinterested in money. In fact, I see so little motivation in making money when I don’t spend it.
I just login to a few things and I am so terribly stressed to see so many reminders and deadlines flashing. However, I am way past my acne growing years or my face will be covered with acne. Lucky that I won’t get acne anymore, isn’t it? Well, not really because now I get white hairs and wrinkles.

2) You are a good Christian and good Christians don’t like 666
3) You probably own your own domains and hostings but clueless about these numbers and deserve to get hack one of these days

I know I have not been updating much. I was so caught up with many things, I sometimes forget and skipped a meal. As a result, a few of my jeans are now looser. It is a good thing, come to think of it.
Last week, I attempted and successfully accomplished cooking for 150 people. There are other types of foods like sandwiches, curry puffs and fried Malay meehoon and mee. But the pasta I prepared saved the day.

It is a crazy idea, that I cook 10 packets of pasta. That’s five kilograms of dried pasta, you know? It is no joke and one shouldn’t attempt doing so unless one is absolutely sure they can managed. You see, by the fourth packets, I had ran out of space to fill the boiled pasta. I summoned all the big pots I have and managed to boil only six packets. There is no way I can boil the other four packets and I estimated I won’t have enough pasta sauce to go with it.

So, just to keep some notes for future reference, these are the ingredients :
ELBOW SHAPES PASTA WITH TOMATO AND BASIL PASTA SAUCE
6 packets of 500 grams San Remo elbow shapes dried pasta – Boiled two packets at one go. Remove, strain and mix with some olive oil. Set aside.
3 roasted chicken (buy from Tesco) – Tear the meat into small pieces. Keep the bones for making stock.
1 large tin (and I mean really large) of pasta sauce. Bought from Lucky Frozen food supplier and it costs only RM21.50
3 tins of pre-sliced button mushrooms
5 large onions
1 large bottle of tomato ketchup
Some oil, some pepper, salt and whatever sauces on hand

Cooking in large batches and serving to hundreds of people mean we must be absolutely hygenic. No dirty hands, no dirty cutting board, make sure all the foods are cooked thoroughly, never leave the foods in a warm temperature and make sure the foods doesn’t stand in room temperature for too long.

I started boiling all the pastas in batches at only at 2 pm and got things ready by 5 pm. Note that I used the shortcut of buying fresh roasted chicken from Tesco which was hot out of the oven.

I am borrowing the photo of Boris (a youth from my church) who was feeding his brother to grace this post. It is very rewarding to cook for large groups because the feelings of looking at so many people eating the foods I cooked gives me a fuzzy feelings inside.
I will put the recipe for the apple and potato salad I made in another post.

My boy is now six years old and I suddenly realised that I no longer get worked up over developmental milestones anymore. Once upon a time, I used to make sure that he keeps up to the development or else I will be terribly worried.

Therefore, I can never go legal in some of my blogs even if i should decide that I am not ever going to sell links and write paid posts.
After making a lot of money, spending a lot of time teaching people how to make money, I have sort of move on. It is a good thing. I am free from the bondage of making money online. There is no more pressure to check my mobile phone when I am out shopping or having a good time to see if I have any money to make online. There is no more worries about deadline except for the occasional local ones.
However….I am still getting a stable income from passive income so I will just enjoy the phase until I feel like getting back to make money online aggressively.

I know, I know…I am not posting here much. But I am not starving myself either because I do go out and eat, cook and etc. Just that I am too lazy to take pictures because I hate the quality of my photos using the Fuji Finepix. It is not up to my ’standard’ so instead of producing bad photos, may as well don’t take photos at all. On the other hand, I am too lazy to bring my DSLR out because it is so huge and needs a bag on its own.
Recently, I have been to a few soup kitchens in Penang where they prepare meals for the homeless and poor people. Two of these centres are Hare Krsna and Kawan Centre.
I am going to embed the Hare Krsna free meals on wheels here. I will post another one on Kawan.
I really hope each of us can find some way to help these soup kitchens, whether to volunteer or to contribute stuffs to them. I have the details on my video like where to find them and how to contact them.
The foods cooked and served to the poor are really good. I need to convince you all in my next post on Kawan.

I am currently reading Who Moved My Cheese. It is a rather corny book that I regretted buying. But then, my lecturer in the course I am taking, psycho-spirituality said it is a good book that talks about change. So, like the gullible person that I am, I spend RM29.90 on a really thin book with large fonts.
Here’s a short video I made the other day about me and things that cheesed me off :
I don’t know but I somehow relate the Who Moved My Cheese to Who Moved My Pagerank. As you can see, my pagerank was taken away recently. At other times, I would be terribly depressed and will analysed what when wrong, work around the clock to get it back and appeal to Google and such.
However, I don’t seem to care anymore. Now, I use only Safari on my iMac and Google Chrome on my Vista laptop. So, I don’t see any freaking non-existence green juice on Firefox to cheese me off. I have also reduced my online making money stuffs but concentrate of the web administration of two sites (that don’t belong to me but some organisations). Apart from that, I am either busy video filming, editing or spending time of my own.
The book on Who Moved My Cheese is about four mice who deal with changes. There are two who moved on as soon as a cheese station dries up. One Hem refused to do anything but live in constant fear. One Haw made some feeble attempts after being starved. I want to adopt the approach of the other two mice who constantly move on.
Who knows, video blogging will be the next big thing (it is already) and I could make money from them one day?
So, to those who have traits of Hem and Haw, try using Safari, Opera, Explorer, Chrome so that you don’t see the blardy green tool that boosts your ego when you have it and deflated your ego when it is gone, at Google’s fancy.
