Where do you buy gold?
I was telling my friend about how to buy gold. The ignorant woman thought we go to jewelry shop and buy those decorative pieces.
No! Those are for decorations. We buy gold from trusted source to keep as investment. These are not pieces we wear every day. They are for investing, whereby we do not actually hold or touch them.
Some call it paper gold because we have certificates to keep like how fixed deposits are. So, after I had explained to her, she now understand what it means and that rich woman is probably going to invest in that from now on.
As for me, all I can afford are tiny ones as I don’t have the moolah to invest big. Big or small, it is still savings and something to be encouraged.

Tomatoes like my Farmville
The other day when I was on holidays, I went to visit a vegetable farm. I was sooo happy and excited to be running around the tomatoes, cabbages, cauliflowers, carrots and other vegetable plants.
They are just like my Farmville farm which I tended with so much love and care. I doubt I can grow real vegetables because vegetable farms are so sunny and hot. I don't like bugs and I hate sweating in them. So, I shall just be happy with my Farmville farm. 
Are you saving for your children
Do you buy gold coins for your children? Do you open accounts for them? Do you invest in unit trust? Do you buy homes for them?
I am afraid I am now beginning to do these things eventhough it takes a lot away from my own enjoyment. I do not spend a lot on myself, my house or take expensive holidays.
I believe in future, our children will find it harder to buy a home. So, I buy for them in advance. I also know that gold prices and other precious metals are going up. So, I keep some for them.
I wonder if every parents are like me? The worry wart who wants to have a secure future?

Golden age needs gold investment
I have been observing how frail humans get when they are old. A few trips to the hospital recently had revealed all these realities and sadly, it is something that we cannot avoid.
At that golden age, we have to be wise in our investment because we do not want to end up too poor to afford our medical fees.
That’s why I like to buy gold and keep myself feeing secure. There is nothing like something to fall back on when we cannot be up and about earning a living.
So, are you bracing yourself for the bleak outcome in the far future? Or are you very sure that you will not have problems. 
Dates and nuts
Have you tried stuffing nuts into dates and eat them? I love it. Some shops do sell these prepared but unfortunately, the combination is sometimes not what I like. For example they may use almond with harder dates or cashew nuts and other nuts.
I like to buy my own dates and then, use cashew nuts to stuff into these dates. They are so nice to enjoy.
Nuts and dates are both very nutritious foods so if you are feeling hungry, try that combination. 
Time to hit the sack
I have a friend who told me she doesn’t like being a Christian because she hates waking up in the morning on Sundays to go to church. I think I am beginning to believe her now because I am going to wake up really early tomorrow.
So, I have to call it a night, go to sleep and wake up early tomorrow morning for church. Be good people, be happy.
Sunday is a good day to think of God and nothing else.

Addicted to Farmville?
I am very addicted to Farmville. It is like a magnet force that makes me log in, tend to my farm and then, I move on doing other things.
I think many people who started playing Farmville knows that it is something you either stop doing or you keep on improving.
It is quite relaxing if you have time to slowly tend to the animals, trees and now bakery. The visual is nice and hence, I just love looking at those flowers, vegetables and fruits growing.

My relative is laughing at me when I told them I do not have a lot of money to spare as I prefer to buy gold coins instead of following them on a cruise holiday.
They are making a booking for a cruise holiday and asked my family to go along. It will be very costly as there are so many of us. I recently am into investing in gold and hence, my money is tied up in gold.
They told me I am planning too far ahead and am not enjoying life like what I should be doing. However, I beg to differ. I think we do not need to spend a lot of money to go on cruises when we can enjoy them in our own country. So, thank you very much but I like to save money.

Overhanging strawberries
I have never seen how strawberries grow in the wilderness. I have read a lot about picking ripen strawberries in Enid Blyton's stories and have wondered how wonderful it is to be able to do that.
However, the kind of strawberries planted here are too orderly. They hang down from higher places so the strawberries never touch the earth. Are wild strawberries supposed to grow this way?
No wonder these strawberries aren't sweet at all. 
Opening a restaurant
Recently, I have been thinking a lot about opening a restaurant. Of course, I am not the one who is going to do the cooking. I am just investing so that my sons can have a place where they can hone their cooking skills.
So, I was telling hubby that we should seriously consider getting a nice location with a lovely building for a restaurant. I want something quaint and rustic. Nothing too fancy, but not too shabby either.
Until then, we shall have to continue investing and buy gold coins. Now is not the time yet to get the restaurant. We need a few more years. So, start saving wisely for that. 
Do you know hibiscus flower is edible?
Do you know that the hibiscus flower which is our national flower is edible? Well,don't go out and start chewing on those flowers because not every one of them is edible.
Only a certain species are safe and they are turned into tea. You can infuse the dried petals and drink. It is suppose to lower cholesterol. I have never tasted hibiscus flowers yet. If you have, can you tell me what it tastes like? Is it fragrant? 
Here today,. gone tomorrow
I just got a call from a friend that the husband of another friend has just passed away. He just collapsed and passed on after losing consciousness.
My widow friend is only in her late fourties while the husband has just touched fifty not too long ago. The news of the death do rattle us all because it is not something we think of ever happening. Well, at least not so soon.
However, life is such. That's why it is good to plan for tomorrow and be wise in our investment because we do not want to be left without a penny. Anyone keen to buy gold and be comforted of something to fall back on in case the main breadwinner is not around?
Don’t take life for granted. 
Green but nutritious?
These beautiful coral salad leaves are planted in tiny bags, hanging in the air and having some water sprayed on them each day. They are really lovely and beautiful.
However, I do wonder how nutritious these vegetables are because they do not really have real, earth but just hydroponic stuffs to sustain them. Do you think there are minerals, vitamins and healthy stuffs in there?
The other thing is there is no infestation of bugs and I do wonder why the bugs don't even like them. 
Long, busy weekend
It is a long weekend over here due to several holidays. My dear hubby has taken leave on Monday so he has a total of five days.
However, I do not have the luxury of having a five-days break because I have to work, work, work due to the special festive occasion. So many events to cover and so many things to do.
So, all I have is a few hours there and a few hours here to do some shopping therapy and self-gratification of buying stuffs I don't really need. 
Time to take stock
As we are nearing our 50s, friends told us to start taking stock of our investments. A friend suggested to us to take as much loans as possible because in another few years, it will be hard for us to do so.
Another told us to buy gold coins and keep them for investment as it is the best choice.
Yet another old told us to keep some money in fixed deposit because it is much needed as we have children who are college going and we never know when a big bill may come along.
So, we eventually decided to spread out the risks and the investments. However it is a headache juggling all the numbers and deadlines. 
Prudent spending gives happy ending
I was at the mall today and people still shove credit card applications to shoppers without a care if they can afford to pay or not. Gullible ones still sign up with the hope of getting free gifts and free spending.
Many young people are into this trend of living on credit. They don't think much of the future. They do not care about investment. Telling them to buy gold coins is futile because they just don't see how important and useful it is to do so.
I am glad that I have been prudent in spending during my younger days, never buying on credit and never spend more than I can earn. 
A lone strawberry
We went to this strawberry farm where we can pick our own strawberries. However, the price they put is so silly. We have to pay $20 for 500 grams of hand-picked strawberry while we need to pay only $12 for those they have plucked for us.
So, we decided not to do it because what's the point of paying $8 extra when we can just sit back and eat cheaper ones. 
National Day, national flower
August 31st is our National Day. And then, what? It seems that people no longer treasure this thing call independent day. We have lost our sight. We take for granted that independent day comes because we deserve it.
I guess somewhere along, education failed. We were not reminded of why we have this day call independent day. That's why the people are not excited about it. 
Looking up
I took this photo the other day when I was at Cameron Highlands. At first, I didn't notice the flowers on the tree. Then, one small petal fell on my shoulder, brushing my face. That's when I reliased the tree is full of flowers. The flowers are tiny white ones.
I immediately took out my camera and shoot it with the blue skies as background. Such a beautiful scene, isn't it? 
Saddest Japanese Christian hymn ever
I have kept this Japanese Christian hymn in my Youtube account under Playlist and I played it very often when I need that little bit of faith to push me on.
Sometimes, we forget our purpose in life. We get too comfortable. We forget God. So, I always make it a point to turn to some music, Bible and things that can touch a chord in me to remind me I am still alive and I am here to do God's will. 
Christmas choir starts now
Our choirmaster has just informed me that Christmas choir will start next month. However, next month is just a week away. That means I am going to sing Christmas carols in September.
That will certainly put me into the Christmas mood. And with that, it means shopping and more shopping. So, if you have also caught the Christmas bug, do look up the buy.com coupons to get some good bargains.

Best weekend
Last week has been one of the better weekends I ever had in the last few months. There is nothing that I need to attend to except to wake up, enjoy the morning mist, have a nice breakfast, relax further and breathe in fresh air.
My hubby and I took a short drive up to the hills to do nothing. Absolutely nothing. The only time we go out is to have our meals. Other times, we are happy just to sit at the balcony, overlooking the gardens and spans of hills.
If only I have more days and more money, I will probably take a Branson vacation. Meanwhile, I shall just treasure these short weekends getaway.

Working women
I just read that our Premier is finally talking about checres. After so many decades, working moms still find it hard to adapt to work after their long maternity leave because they cannot find a proper place to place their babies.
I for one know that not having reliable babysitters near the working place is one of the hardest for us to cope. We usually have to leave our children far away from the workplace and unable to see them during lunch hour.
That’s why many women have hung up their briefcases and don aprons to be at home so that they can take care of their children instead of working.

Endless choices
Nowadays, it seem like there is an endless choice of diet pills with names that I cannot even pronounce like apidexin and etc.
I have never tried them before so I cannot tell if one works better than the others. I am always cautious of these things and prefer to live naturally with the extra baggages and all.
I also like to caution girls to be very careful with what they popped because they have to be very sure those are not some untested products.

Building a business
My friend is lamenting to me how she regretted starting her own business. She used to earn a living, having a much carefree life until she left her job to start her own business.
Now, she is grumbling that all she does is to pay money instead of receiving a salary. She even have to pay for receipt printer instead of charging her shopping to her card.
I guess that’s the price to pay for venturing into business. One has to work hard until business booms.

So many choices to exercise
They have so many gadgets and machine for those who are crazy about exercise and gym. Now, there is the pull up bar which is something most may want.
Right now, I am not in the right shape to talk about exercise as I have a stiff neck for a few days already. It is hard to even drive so I cannot be thinking of doing any strenuous activities that need me to turn my head.
I can only go ouch ouch ouch when I forgot and make a quick turn to look at something. Sigh…how do I get rid of a stiff neck?

Do you have health plans?
I often remind my younger friends who have just become parents to make sure that their babies have ample health plans. None of us can avoid that occasional hospital stays or expensive medical treatment.
Whether we like it or not, at some stage, our child does get ill and need medical treatment. So, always be prepared.
Now that I am older, I also remind my friends to keep themselves well protected. This Blue Cross Blue Shield North Carolina just reminded me that we are getting old and again, need health plans.

Can laminate flooring withstand moisture?
I am thinking of getting laminate flooring for my new place but people told me that it cannot withstand moisture. Is that true?
I have quite heavy traffic at home because there are so many of us. Therefore, we need to mop the floor rather often. Plus my kid tend to spill water on the floor.
It looks like I need to look further into this option. However I love how flexible this type of flooring and and how easy the installation is. I hate those that cause a lot of dust or noise when we need to renovate as it is rather inconvenient.

Old car for new
Yesterday, we went to cover an assignment where a large structure was demolished. The thing fell and cause a crater on the grounds.
My friend, a guy was telling me he should have parked his car at the spot so that he can get a brand new car for his beat up saloon.
He said his car insurance will cover such accidents and he can also sue the company for damaging his property.

I must get one of those Thule racks
We have been finding it hard to stuff all our baggages into the boot of our SUV because SUVs are not known to have a lot of bootspace.
Sometimes when we go travelling, we have to put some of the bags in our leg’s space and the kids grumbled a lot. So, my hubby is considering getting those thule roof racks so that we can put some of the things on the roof compartment instead of taking up spaces in the SUV.
However, the problem is we don’t use it that much so we are not sure if it is a good idea as well.

I think I need emergency assistance
Not the financial kind or the insurance kind or medical kind of emergency assistance.
I need emergency assistance to get rid of a zit on my nose. It is so painful, so huge and red. I do not have anymore pimple cream or anti-acne formula. So do you know what I used?
I use toothpaste! I read on Cosmopolitan that models swear by it. The toothpaste is supposed to make the pimple dry up. So,I am going to sleep with a big dollop of toothpaste on my nose in a little while.

Who needs a hot tub cover
To be frank with you I am not sure what are hot tub covers. I need to check out the internet before I get an idea what it is.
People like me doesn’t like to waste time in tubs because there are just too many things going around me to bother with a good, warm, relaxing soak. So, there is no tub at home and hence, never occur to me people need hot tub covers.
Friends are telling me what I do not know I have missed. They insisted it is the most rewarding thing to do after a hard day’s work. I doubt it. I prefer to sleep, you know?

How nice to stay in a spa villa
I went to one of those post resorts to have dinner the other day. The place overlooks the spa villa of the resort. It was during the sunset and the place was breath-taking beautiful.
I was told the spa village comes equipped with massage tables and nice relaxing spa available for guests at anytime they fancy.
Unfortunately, it is way too expensive for me so I have to forget all about it. Never in my life can I afford such luxury so I shall just enjoy the free sunset.

We may need another lcd monitor
My sons somehow have this affinity to kill their digital gadgets faster than anything. I usually like to buy extended warranty because I know I need them.
Now, we have to be on the look out for lcd monitor because the old one is showing a black screen.
Sometimes, it is cheaper to buy units than sending the damaged gadget for repair because they usually cost a bomb. And the frustrating thing is the thing usually died after a few months from their warranty. Like a clockwork.

Do you wonder whether it is a little too early for Christmas shopping? No, I tell you. Now is the best time to hunt for Christmas gifts because all the stores are giving out lots of discounts.
If we start planning and buying our Christmas gifts now, we can avoid the expensive prices at the end of the year. You can get nice toys that won’t go out of fashion if you select those classic ones.

My boy wants a binocular for his birthday
My son followed me to the camera shop the other day. He played around with some binoculars and is now bugging me to buy him one for his birthday.
The problem is, I am not sure if he can abuse the thing because there is so much you can see with a good binocular. I am not talking about the kid’s stuff where everything comes out blur. I am talking about those bird watcher models which give perfect, clear views.
The other thing is the models we see are rather expensive and I am afraid he will get tired of playing around with it and come to waste.

Bumps and dents are common nowadays
Previously, the cars belong to only my hubby and I. Both of us have managed to keep them in perfect condition. Then, the sons started driving and now, bumps and dents are so common.
Thank God those are minor ones so I am not complaining. We leave those scratches and tiny dents untouched because there is no point in doing up the car nicely. Moreover it is so expensive to just have a tiny paintwork done.
So, the best is to get some cheapest auto insurance, sit back, pray and hope we never have to claim it.

PC fair is here again
I am not sure why they kept using the PC Fair term after so many years. Long ago, before we have Mac, we only have PC as in personal computer aka Windows. But nowadays we have so many other types of gadgets and operating systems. So, it is rather old to use the same PC Fair.
Yet, they never bother to change and continue to use it. The computer and electronic gadget fair is coming soon. I am looking forward to the bargain and hope to grab some cheap stuffs. Of course, one of them is the flash drive.

Cupcakes for baby showers
A relative is into baking and she makes such lovely cupcakes with themes. Recently, a friend ordered a batch from her for her baby shower. It was the most beautiful and cutest cakes ever.
My friend also have lovely baby shower invitations and with that, it made a totally unforgettable experience for all the invited guests.
Everyone gets to go home with a cupcake with their names plus nice cute designs too. It certainly makes baby showers less boring.

It’s gonna be a long, long night
I have a lot of things to complete and catch up tonight. If I don’t do them, I am going to stay sleepless and toss and turn in bed. It is one of those things that you want to get rid of so that you can have a good sleep.
I had a cup of brewed coffee at 10 pm and I suppose it will keep me very much awake for several hours to complete the tasks I have to do. Maybe I should get one of those modern sofas and sleep in the living room instead of going up to my room to sleep. That way I can achieve more work, isn’t it?

Sleepless nights are over!
For the last few nights, I have gone to bed at 11 pm instead of my usual late night of 1am or 2am.
I no longer have sleepless nights too as my contest is over and I can sleep peacefully without having nightmares of not enough time to finish my contest.
So, I can now put the acne lotion aside because my skin is much clearer. Stress can give acne outburst so always have enough sleep, stay away from stressful things and eat well.

So, how am I going to deal with that much spams!
I have another blog which I hardly updated. In fact, I haven’t touch it for almost half a year.
Yesterday night, I logged in to upgrade the blog to WordPress 3.0 and to my horrors, there are 2,450 comments awaiting moderation. Of course, out of that probably 99.5% are spam comments.
Nowadays, all the comments are full of links and some even look so genuine and yet, they lead to some commercial sites.
So, now I am searching for some magical plugin to strip off those spams without any further action.

Getting rid of scars
I have one deep scar left by a stubborn zit. I wonder if those acne scar removal cream can get rid of the darker tone and give me a better complexion?
It is not acne but rather my itchy hands which caused the pimple to flare up due to an infection. After the pus was removed, my face has a crater. 
That’s why it is always wise to make sure we do not touch our face because it will cause infection.

I need a cruise holiday like right now
Royal Caribbean cruises sort of reminds me that I have never been on a cruise. I always get the images of tight spaces and motion sickness when people mention cruise.
But now, looking at the gigantic ships with loads of entertainment, I couldn’t wait to go on one. The only problem is the cost of flying to the destination to go up on the cruise. Otherwise, I will buy a ticket and just sail away now to a whole new world, all by myself.

My home office that never take off
Initially, I do not have a desk in my bedroom. I used to work, sitting on the floor with the laptop on my bed. Then, work gets too intense and I had a severe backache due to the bad posture.
So, I bought some office furniture like a desk and a chair. I had wanted to convert a corner into a nice home office but that never really takes off because I have a habit of leaving things to the last minute.
I ended up moving places and so, it gets even less meaningful to make a home office for myself. Now, I am just happy with this two pieces of furniture.

Can sitting down gives hemorrhoid?
I have watched some Hong Kong TVB videos and they said one can get hemorrhoid by sitting in a taxi for too long. According to the movies, the taxi drivers get it because they sat for too long and cause the blood vessel to get jammed.
I check for treatment for hemorrhoid and do not seem to find any evidence to this. It is due to bad eating habits that cause constipiation that is the culprit.
So, do you think it is true?
